So I was reading Ja-cheong’s blog and ended up getting recommended an interview video of Joonyo Hair’s CEO, Kang Yoon-seon. Watching that, I got swept into the YouTube algorithm and ended up watching videos of Juvy’s, featuring former CEO Jo Sung-kyung. And that led me to eventually reading their book\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, when you hear Juvy’s, it’s just this diet company known for before-and-after pictures of celebrities’ diets, and all I knew was that their fees were quite high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The video revealed that Jo Sung-kyung sold Juvy’s for about 250 billion won some years ago and detailed the whole process from founding Juvy’s to selling it, which I’m currently reading about in Millie’s library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both Juvy’s and Joonyo Hair don’t franchise (Juvy’s had tried but overcame failure, and Joonyo Hair operates as a hybrid between direct management and franchising only for employees with over 10 years of service), which seems to ensure strict quality control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both companies prioritize employee training and education through reading. Also, both individuals displayed remarkable execution power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reading “Juvy’s Miracle,” I got a more detailed insight into Juvy’s founding story than from the videos and was truly impressed by the tale of overcoming tax audits and challenges in corporate growth\u2026 Realized Juvy’s wasn’t just some small local business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On one hand, I wondered how she managed her family life while focusing on business. Balancing work and family is always tough for working women\u2026 That’s for sure. I imagine she had support from her husband and family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before starting Juvy’s, she was a freelance lecturer. Maybe that’s why her storytelling was so captivating and engaging^^ So, even long videos weren’t boring at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On another note, I thought about how publishing a book could be the most powerful marketing tool for a company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
