Environmental Educator

Let’s take a look at how to obtain the Environmental Educator Certificate issued by the Ministry of Environment.

They issue the certification twice a year, in the first and second halves, based on a third-grade standard.

The duties of environmental educators include planning, conducting, analyzing, evaluating environmental education programs, or performing environmental education.

The certification is divided into three levels: level 1 is for environmental education institution managers (foundation, establishment, management), level 2 is for middle managers (planning, operation management), and level 3 is for instructors, interpreters (education performance, interpretation).

The qualification requirements for each level are as follows:

  • Level 1: More than 3 years of experience after acquiring level 2 qualification, possession of a doctoral degree related to environmental education
  • Level 2: More than 3 years of experience after acquiring level 3 qualification, possession of a master’s degree related to environmental education or more than 6 years of experience related to environmental education
  • Level 3: Anyone can apply (graduates of level 3 training courses), holders of bachelor’s degrees related to the environment are exempt from basic courses

The process of obtaining qualifications is as follows:

  1. Registration of history: Register your history after signing up on the Environmental Education Portal site.
  2. Education application: Apply for the desired training course. If there are many applicants, they will be selected by lottery.
  3. Completion and evaluation of basic courses: You must pass 100% online attendance and a written exam, and the average score must be above 60 to pass.
  4. Completion and evaluation of practical courses: Only those who pass the written exam can participate in the practical training. The attendance rate for practical training must be above 80%, and a score of at least 70 must be obtained in class demonstrations.
  5. Request for certification issuance: Submit the required documents and apply for certification issuance.
  6. Passing: If there are no qualification restrictions, you are considered to have passed.

Training institutions for levels 2 and 3 vary and may change every year. You can obtain certification by selecting an appropriate training institution.
